Trip to the bike jumps

Well before we hit the water park I took the little nevilles over to the BMX bike jumps, that were just built next door to the water park. Of cause the poor little fella Oscar couldn't give it a go, as he's not into his bike riding yet but give him some time. Here's Sarah giving it a go and for a sheilah she's not bad hay, but give her credit where credit's due..... she is really a bloke!

But even the best of blokes come off... poor little sod, but when one of the nevilles come off I use the same tactic for each one. I ask them if they can walk? if so then no problem, I just say something nice and encouraging to them like 'Tell ya story walking pal' or 'Dry ya eye's princess', and get them back on that bike so as not to let them give up..... a good thing to learn in life hay.

Go Jacko he just loves giving it his all and hes not at all scared on these dirt jumps, and he really loves trying to get his old bike up in the air.

But all things that go up must come down and sometimes as you come back down, a bike comes down on top of ya ha,ha you just never get tried of watching kiddies come a gutzer. But as you can see it wasn't just me who had a ripper time watching the kiddies fall off, So me and Oscar have more in common then I thought!

And another one over 'You little beauty'.

And another as Jacko bites the dirt ha,ha,

Another one bites the dust.... ooooohhhh 'Suck it up princess'

But i'll tell ya one thing you just don't get tried of watching the little ones coming off, fairdinkum I think I laughed just as much watching the first ones as I did this last one! ha,ha,ha

Trip to Ellenbrook's WaterPark

What a little ripper of a water park Ellenbrook has just open up, and it got the thumbs up by the little nevilles too. We packed the bikes as well as the picnic this time, and drove the short distance up to Ellenbrook's new FREE water Park. It's only a small set up but the kiddies just love the water going off, and of cause anything free gets my nod.

We got up their nice and early so as to miss most of the sun and the mad mob of little scallywags, that always seem to hang out at these places... you know like my mob! And as you can see ALL THE PAULS made the trip up the road this time, thats right out for the first time is the little fella Chase. And fairdinkum didn't he have a little ripper of a time just hanging out with his mates, but crikey don't think you'll see him out to many times with us. Because after changing a few shitty nappys on a park bench, sure takes the fun away from the day out (fairdinkum back home for you)

Now seeing there was nobody else around the Park I let the nevilles ride there bikes around the water park, and of cause give the little mugs an inch and before I knew it they were racing each other through the water sprinklers.

Hasn't Harrison just taken to the bike like Tartare sauce to fish n' chips! Only just a few months early he was on his training wheels, and now his a friggin' Daredevil! Fairdinkum if you ever get to watch this little fella on his bike, he gives anything a go and most of the time he ends up on his arse.

And of cause anything that the boys can do she can do BETTER... is the motto of my little princess, whom i'm sure one day will deferentially gonna kill me. She's just too much like her brothers (God help me) once she gets the hang of something, she just goes straight at it with everything shes got.

And here is me little angel hanging out with her mate, and I bet he can't wait for the chance to get out their with his brothers.

And while the others do their Daredevil riding around, Oscar just had a ball wetting them with his water gun. He loved the water jets and of cause getting wet, and if you watch the videos you'll see he loves just getting in the way. How he didn't get run over at least a hand fall of times, is beyond me but he got away with it again and again. And while all this was going on Chase was just climbing up on all the park seats and rolling about on the grass, you know that Life can be hard felling way. Yep he sure had a beaut time and wasn't much of a hand full, but he did make a big dint in our picnic tucker so this could be his last trip with us.

But not always does the rides go the way the kiddies want them to go, and of cause thats the best videos hay and they didn't really hurt themselves that much. Nothing that some ice-cream, Dettol n' a band-aid couldn't fix up, but until they get home it's just the 'get up and get back on mate' atturtude in our mob.

But while all the mob were falling over themselves one little neville just hung back and shot them with water.... On ya Oss! So after getting soaked it was time to ride the bikes over to Ellenbrooks new bike track, but that will be in our next post as we have just about run out of time.... see ya.

Sculptures by the sea again

It's that time of year again when I grab four nevilles and a packed lunch and head to Cottesloe Beach, to rub shoulders with the upper class lot and gander at some weird sculptures. That's right it's Sculptures by the sea time again where the kiddies wonder about looking at strange things that their not aloud to touch, and Dad just shakes he's head and says 'What did I say' about fourty eight times (but who's counting). But it is a little ripper of a day out just wondering about looking at these things and it is Australia's largest free outdoor sculpture exhibition! (well it is!) Fairdinkum and the kiddies love looking at these strange items and just think to themselves 'I can do this too', so in a way where encouraging that side of their brain (you know the arty farty side) which holds their imagination and art'ishness thing! So their!.... clear as mud.

Usually I try to tell you all about the sculpture and it's name, but unfortunately I haven't been able to come across this info so i'll just have to wing-it! As for this sculpture sadly I can't even do that.... i've got no friggin' idea what it is or what it could be, so i'll just call it 'Thingummyjig'.

But as for this one yes I do know what it is and I do know it's name, it's called 'Subterfuge' why..... i've got no friggin' idea but I know it's name because it was recycled from this event at Bondi 2009.

and here's another one that rings a bell in the old scone that's the old gem the Hills Hurst clothes line, but as for the tree branches up top.... well I guess that's what you call ART!

Now this one is my type of stuff and I can really get into this one it's just some steel thing, and the kiddies got right into it ..... well yeah right into it and layed down, 'you little buggers get out of their' but wait till I get the photo first!

Now this one is pretty cool hay I told the kiddies to get under the one that they most like, so we have a pig a horse and a couple of goats SAY NO MORE!

This is properly called 'Wadjamacallit' because well it looks just like a wadjamacallit!

So now this is the sixth year that this event has been going and it seams to be growing into a main draw card for Cottesloe and Perth, this year there was more than 60 artists from here and overseas and as you can see not a bad mob turned up to have a stickybeak.

But all good things have to come to an end and so as the sunsets on yet another Sculptures by the sea, the kiddies are worn out and the old mans had enough for a day (trust me) thank God it's only once a year. But i'm sure we'll be out doing something different next weekend with the nevilles giving me hell again.... don't ya just love it!
